you al so should have glibc 2.x as well for proper compatibility. (ie: rh 6, or another older distro.)

If you have problems loading the plugin at runtime, it may also help to compile it with gcc 2.X instead of 3.X
The latest version of RedHat with 2.X is 7.3, I believe. It loads 2.96
