Well from what I remember it asked me to convert my current HL install (generation's as-well) to a steam cache. Maybe you need to have it patched up to the latest version (1.1.0.0 I believe) before steam came out.
As for other games, copy Codename: Gordon GCF file into the steam directory for it to be recognised in steam, for example. Steam doesn't "see" my Half-Life which is installed from Generations pack box. Instead it tries to download whole Half-Life from internet after I entered serial number. Why do I need new Half-Life if it *IS* already on my PC. Can't it determine current HL version and download separate files? Them Steam doesn't "see" Codename: Gordon which I asked my friend to download me and send on cd. What I am trying to tell is that for users with low bandwidth (I have 56kb modem - 5kb\sec) it is problematically to use Steam as delievery platform for files larger then 20 mb. In my country broadband internet is something for gods. Is it possible to manually tell Steam that Half-Life lies in D:\Games\Half-Life and Codename: Gordon is in D:\Games\CodenameGordon ? Do you want to see such feature in Steam? -- Best regards, Vyacheslav mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders
