Draco,

You are right; don't get me wrong I think overall Valve does a wonderful
job and have gone out of their way to help the community. However, I
still think it's rude to not even give the mod makers a heads-up as to
what parts of the code they will change with the update, let alone the
new SDK. They just release the update and BAM, mods break. That seems
rude to me.

Again, I did note that maybe this time with DOD:S being pushed out, they
didn't have time. Understandable, but I just don't think that should be
a common practice. Then again I've never had to distribute an SDK, so I
can't really say how hard that is or not. I just don't think it would be
"too difficult" under normal circumstances.

So to the Valve people in the crowd, don't think I am jumping all over
you or trying to be unfair, I realize all the work you do and appreciate
it, that's why I came back and paid for HL2 (silver pkg). On the other
hand, if we don't inform you of what things we would like to see, you
might never know or think it's just a small group who wants X. Same
principle as open betas, while your beta team might be able to catch
most things, having fresh eyes will always bring new ideas and
improvements.

Of course you always get certain people (aka trolls) who do nothing but
complain and provide no positive feedback. Try to ignore them :)

Email valve, you'll be suprised how much feedback you will get.

The project lead of BG2, Black Panther, emailed about organising a match
between us and valve like what the HL2CTF team did. They accepted and gave
us many emails on how to polish the mod, how to make it more user friendly,
even design ideas on how to make certain parts of the gameplay better.

When you think about it, they only really HAVE to support their own games,
the fact that they take the time to set up mailing lists, websites, wiki
databases and one of the nicest SDK's I've ever seen is great.

Now lets stop complaining and get our third party addons working again.
