Erik, Thank you for letting us know, we can quit bugging you now. I'm very happy to see Valve working on getting free content out via Steam. All these ideas for download links are nice, but still fall short of "easy" for the players and "easy" for the developers. Meaning, it's not as good as what Valve uses to get their content out. Hopefully whatever you are working on will do both.
It would just kick-butt to be able to open steam ONLY, and get any mod/updates I want at the click of a button. Go Valve for having something like this on the drawing board (knew you did), can't wait til you can tell us more though ;) -Smurf Subject: RE: [hlcoders] Upcoming Steam update and MODs Date: Thu, 29 Sep 2005 12:16:04 -0700 From: "Erik Johnson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Reply-To: [email protected] This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] It at least falls under the umbrella of some of the next set of things we're working on for Steam. Along those lines, we're pretty actively thinking about/working on a distribution system that will work for free content. It's not far enough along to give out too many details, but it's something that should be pretty useful for MOD developers. _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders
