HLDM Source was confirmed ages ago alongside the April 24th release date and while the expansion was still called Aftermath and not Episode One.
Anyway, I seriously doubt the support will carry over. I mean, HL SP and MP shared the same code base to my knowledge, they weren't completely independent to each other like HL2 is to HL2DM. Did you see any HL mods work with hl: source? It's a new engine, and these are ports, you'll have to port over your mods to the new engine too (how hard that is I do not know but I imagine that an experienced programmer would be able to port his mods over). That said, I don't think the porting ability is affected by the release of HLDM, they could just as well port their mods now without that released. Of course you should take anything I say regarding programming with a bucket of salt. I just don't think the purpose of this release is intended in any way for mod ports. I could be wrong.
