I added a database connection to the standard SDK code a long time ago, using the method you mentioned. Sending info to a program sitting on the database machine that handles the information. However I was never to good with threads so I didn't bother using or even trying to use them, but it worked almost perfectly with very little effort. So you're on the right track, just keep plugging away and you'll crack it eventually. --
