For networking variables you could always set them up to work with
prediction and just use cl_pdump to see if any are going red which they
shouldn't.  For testing stuff like collisions or something where you require
an idle player to do tests on, you can always use "bot_add" which adds a bot
to the game.  For testing things that require a person playing with you,
your stuck with getting a friend to help you out.
