-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I think setting up a read only SVN is an fantastic idea! As for all this other discussion I can see the problem that people are having here with the concept of how the episode version of the engine are working and its allot to understand esp if you are new to the sdk and any of the changes over the years. So why dont we get some facts out into the wiki soonish?.I mean something that I dont understand right now for example is why I have 2 GameConfig files but then I dont even have Ep2 stuff on my machine..you know there is a gameconfig.txt in the bin folder and then another in bin/ep1/bin..arghh thats confusing to me. I think Mike is doing a good job with being considerate with people wanting to work with older versions of the SDK, but I do see a problem with the automatic release of updates causing problems and the fact that we cant switch it off....unless like me you have not connected your offline desktop for almost a year then the engine is the same...Not everything Im working on is for a MOD that will be released (its just for some installation artwork at art galleries) and when Im working on purely creative ideas then I dont want to have to spend some hours using the other side of my brain..its not helpful for making the artwork..but alas one day this machine will die and then there is no easy copy and paste function for the older backup projects I worked on(Steam updating)..it would be a shame that the only way to show what I did for them was to show a video I made with fraps. Is this the case or could I still expect them to work..Geez now im confused err..some clarity would be nice..just some document thats says if u used the SDK between the dates of ?/?/? then it works with such and such version..anyways..hope you guys have a good weekend..I need a break from all this hl stuff
