Sorry to contradict you all about this but after getting obsessed with the the .jpg not working I realized what in fact hlmv wants is these 2 things 1. The image the same size as the other standard hlmv .jpg’s 2. It has to be around the same file size 14kb’s or something The trick is (and it’s not much of one) that when you go to save the image from Photoshop then you need to use the save for web feature, so that the file size is low enough. The problem is if you just save a .jpg even though it’s the same dimensions as the other normal hl2mv.jpg's the save function won’t let you get any lower than around 29kbs and thats what causes hl2mv to crash. Texturemaker worked because I could get the file size low enough, so I tested again with the save for web thing from Photoshop and now it works just fine.
