I still cannot ping steam1.steampowered.com (Which i assume is a steam login server)
Maybe they have some login issues? (I had the same problems, nad i deleted everything bar steam.exe + dll, and steamapps and let it reinstall... I comply and enter it and am promptly told there is a problem connecting to the steam network. I've unplugged and reconnected my router but still i am unable to login. Interestingly i am also unable to access steampowered.com (all other websites work fine) so i can't check to see if this is a widespread problem, although i have spoken to a couple of other people and they appear to have no problems.
