But +mouse1 in chat does nothing unless you click the "Filters" option, and
in the menu its used to select a menu button/tab/whatever. It isn't used to
shoot there.

That's common in most game engines as far as i know. It's due to the fact
that it registers the click in the window not only to gain focus but as a
+mouse1.
