I think you need window 8 to download the express version of VS 2012. The Visual Studio Home page, give me no links to download the express version, only pro, premium and ultimate are proposed. But I got VS express 2012 installed on my tablet pc, i get it from the window store, after I port my asus ep121 tablet pc to a fresh window 8 pro version. It looks like you can only download it if you have an access to the windows store.
