I haven’t tried it out, but from poking around the source code I can fairly
assume that this would limit player movement completely, which is not what I
was looking for. Thanks for the suggestion, but I have already solved the
problem.

I found this in the intermission function in gamerules.cpp
pPlayer->AddFlag( FL_FROZEN );
Try it out.
