To convert mono to stereo or the reverse. I use Cool Edit Pro 2.0 The company that made it was bought by Adobe years ago. Then Adobe incorporated it in to there professional production suite. They had released a few versions as shareware and also trial versions. Before Adobe bought it. You can still find downloads of these on the internet. Google search it.
