I have the usb-300 like you. I have no idea what mobo I have. The comp is a dell dimension xps 850 I believe. When I get home I can check it out and see what chipset I have. If they(plantronics) are telling the truth, you would have 2 avenues. Either buy a usb controller that will work with your headset for about $29, or take your usb-300 headset back and get the LS1 analog headset. I don't understand the problem though? Why would their usb device not work in any usb chipset mobo? I thought that was the whole friggin idea behind USB? To have a standard interface that I can plug whatever the hell I want into. They even have keyboards and mice that plug into USB ports(not that I would ever use one). Anyways, I suspect the plantronics is jerking your chain to avoid having to figure out what the problem is. Ask them to point you to a knowledge base article on the net about this problem. Scratch that, I was just on live chat support with them and the woman, Sarah, said that USB ports are standard as I thought. I asked her if it required a special chipset or if it had known issues with certain usb chipsets and she said that she was not aware of any. I tried searching their online help and found nothing. They are bullshitting you dude. Let me try and help, what OS are you running? What does the headset do when you plug it in? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, September 21, 2001 2:48 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: 1.1.0.8 Voice Comm- WTF is going on with this thing? Which model of headset did you get? I have a DSP300 USB headset - and it won't work on either of my office machines. Plantronics tells me that the headset isn't compatible with the intel usb chipset on my mobo (??), and that it will never work on my machines. What mobo do you use, do you know what the usb chipset is? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ryan McCullough" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, September 21, 2001 1:11 PM Subject: RE: 1.1.0.8 Voice Comm- WTF is going on with this thing? > > I played last night with a couple other guys.
