To optimizing codes of HLDS seens not bad,
Optimizing codes with Newer CPU instructions can up the effciency of CPU
usage,
Speed up the calculation, and lower the server load.

Does HLDS have optimized with the today's technology? MMX? 3DNow? SIMD?
Better codes?
or HLDS have been optimized with i386 codes?

First, please don't send HTML email to this list..or any other list server
for that matter.

HLDS will run on multiprocessor systems. HLDS is not threaded, and has no
child processes. It is a single monolithic application. A single process.

The only way to take advantage of an SMP machine with HLDS is to run
multiple HLDS servers on it.

Valve does not intend to rewrite HLDS to support SMP. Future Valve game
server may, but I don't know what Valve's specific goals are.

Again, HLDS will only take advantage of SMP if you run multiple HLDS servers
on an SMP machine. A single HLDS server will see no performance improvement
on a multiprocessor over a single processor.

I have seen someone talking about hlds with multi-processors,
And someone at valve has said that hlds will support multi-processors.
But I didn't C anything about this, and now hlds still without MP support.
Does the HLDS on MP project have been cancelled?
