Title: RE: [hlds] [hlds]WinXP

One thing you'll want to do... When you are in Windows, hit the Shift key many many times until your stickey keys (if they are installed) appear.  Then go through and disable it.  It sucks when you are trying to toss out grenades and it kicks you out of the game to bring up the sticky keys window.

I know that the invoice game feature works better if you enable direct 3d recording.  It works best when you disable it all together! That could also be cause if you have a Soundblaster card w/out the proper updates.

I did notice that if you alt + tab to Windows from inside the game, you do not lose sound.  One thing I did notice is that the screen will jerk a bit every 5 seconds once you Alt + Tab back...

Other than the current problems that Valve is working on, WinXp runs great!  We setup a dedicated test server running WinXP for a few days and didn't have any problems w/ that either.

I run in Direct 3D w/ an AGPX4 GeForce 2.  It looks just pretty good compared w/ the old Direct 3d on Win2k.  I haven't tested it w/ the any Nvidia drivers from nvidia.com. I'll have to try that and see how it works.

Other than that no problems.  I haven't done a clean install of Half Life on WinXp.  I just copied the folder from when I was running Win2k.  I don't think it will have any different effects on the game, though.

Side note.. Win XP hasn't crashed yet in the past month.... Just a few resets for installations and minor things of that sort.
