since you and the server are behind the firewall/gateway to the internet, you should see your IP listed in gamespy, but you will not be able to ping it for results. Cheaper routers(like mine) do not allow loop-back spoofing with the router. This basically means that you cannot ping yourself. Try dropping to a command line and ping your internet IP. It should timeout. This is because it is there, but your router does not accept loop-back communication. It sounds like it is there though. Have a friend on the outside of your network see if he can get the details of your system. I ran a server from behind a cable modem router for a while and I can't remember for sure, but I think that all I had to do was forward port 27015. Have that friend check it and if that doesnt work try forwarding ports: 6003, 7002, 27010, and 27011 as well to the server.

There are 2 perminant computers connected to the system, in witch there is a server and a client computer. I would like to run a Counter-Strike Dedicated server from my client computer, as it is not possible to run it from my server computer, due to its low system specifications. I was wondering if there is a way to get my server to the outside world. Currently, I have put in place a port redirector on the server computer. It redirects the port 27015 to my client computer, where the HLDS is running on. When I go to Gamespy and try and get my server on my list, it cannot be seen, it simply comes up as an "unnamed" server. Is there a way around this, or do I really have to set the HLDS on my server computer? Please help, many thanks. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
