The difference between hlserver4108.exe and running a dedicated server from your client is nothing. All of the server files come with the client. The only difference is that the hlserver4108.exe file does not come with the client files and is a free download.
Alot of guys who run servers use the dedicated server just because it is about 200mb smaller than the full client.
