Oh, and by the way. If you're playing from machines on the LAN side, why
not just connect to the internal IP anyway? That's what I've always done.
There is really no reason you need to connect to the public IP on the
Linksys to play on your internal server. It just makes more work for the
Linksys, although I doubt it will affect its performance much.
Create a shortcut on your desktop that automatically connects to your
internal server IP. Put this in the shortcut target line, changing drive
letter and path appropriately, along with the correct private IP address of
the HLDS server:
D:\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -game dod -noipx +connect 192.168.1.2:27016
Now, whenever you want to play on your DoD server, just double-click this
shortcut, and it will automatically launch the client game and connect you
to the server.
