First off, you should subscribe to the HLDS-LINUX list, and ask the question
there. You'll probably get more useful info from that list about
Linux...obviously.
I don't actually manage the servers (I just RCON), but here are the hardware
and Linux vitals of the Beer for Breakfast servers:
***************************************
bfb.bogleg.org is:
Dual P3 - 1 Ghz
512Mb RAM

The operating system is Debian GNU/Linux (woody).
uname -nrsv: Linux pail 2.4.5 #1 SMP Thu Jun 21 00:47:27 CDT 2001

ultrasoul.com is:
AMD Athlon 1000 T-bird type C
768Mb RAM
18 Gb of U2W-SCSI storage
Intel EtherExpress Pro 100 Mbit NIC
The operating system is Debian GNU/Linux (potato and woody mongril).
uname -nrsv (non-dynamic): Linux step2 2.4.6 #1 Wed Jul 4 23:36:43 EDT 2001
***************************************
The first machine runs two 20 player CS servers (one multimap, one 24x7
militia), an RTCW 22 player test server, admin_mod 2.5e, the BfB web site,
forum, and hl_stats (The mySQL DB where the hl_stats get inserted is on a
separate machine, last I heard). The HLDS servers run with some custom
wrapper scripts to auto restart the servers when they die (which isn't
often), and to autoban player WON IDs that use the infamous server crash
scripts aginst BfB.
The second machine, located about 1000 miles away from the first, runs two
20 player CS servers also. Again, this machine logs player actions to the
remote mySQL server. I'm not sure what else runs on the 2nd box, but I
think it runs a web server, and maybe some other stuff.
