Well, I didn't want this to get blown so far out of proportion, but since you're attacking my integrity, I have to respond. Yes, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. I want to destroy the game I've been playing for 5 years on one box, and destroy my server on another box just to annoy you because I have so much spare time on my hands I just don't know what else to do. First of all, as I said, I've been playing TFC for 5 years now. Installation was a snap. Upgrades were all a snap (albeit very large downloads). Not a single one ever caused the game to stop working. A year ago I decided to start a server. I set it up with Adminmod and Metamod without a hitch. Then I added Foxbot, again without a hitch. Then HLGuard, Hookmod, Cheating Death, HLBooster, and about 5 more minor add-ons, without a single problem. Suddenly, I switch to Steam, which I resisted because I read DAILY that someone is having MAJOR problems, and lo and behold, major problems. I figured maybe I'll be lucky and get it running without too much trouble. And just FYI I DID read the documentation, and followed it line by line, as I always do. I also have been a member of this list for a year, and saved any and all messages having to do with the setup and configuration of Steam, for future reference. Unfortunately, I assumed that since so many admins were using NT for an OS that Valve would have made an effort to keep Steam compatible, or at the very LEAST, make it clear that it would not work with NT. I guess that's my fault for assuming anything about Valve after all that's happened, but after reading every single message on this list for a year, I can't remember that issue ever coming up. And as for nobody caring...I must have missed the meeting where you were elected spokesman for everyone on this list.
