Are you sure someone doesn't unplug the network cable? Or perhaps an
other network issue, bad cable, bad switch, bad nic, etc... You could
also try a traceroute to the machine when it runs normaly, and also a
traceroute when the machine "disappears". You can then compare the
results and see if it is a local problem, or a more wide network
problem. If it is local you can try to ping other machines in the local
network, to see if just that box is down or the entire local network.
