It wasn't. CDkey generators didn't generate WON valid cdkeys, unless you were
very very lucky to obtain a registered cdkey. They were only a very simple
program that generates keys verifing a well known algorithm, but only valid for
LAN use (where there are no WON auth servers).

The nearest thing I saw was a cdkey generator that was able to check every key
generated against WON to test if it was really valid, but this was a very slow
process (like 0.5 keys/sec or so).
