Port 1200 and port 27007 are only used for client "friends" service.

Most of these sorts of questions are answered on the Steam Support website.

I'll check it tonight when I get home (note to self....). I need to do some
more research about my own servers also....

Alfred, I know you are there :-)  can you give us an official comment on the
function of port 1200 UDP, what it does and if we need to forward it or not?
I know a while ago we went round and round about ports, but I don't remember
1200 being required or even necessary. A while ago I fired up my firewall
with no rules and watched what hlds was doing. Port 1200 never got hit.
