gah, join the mappers/coders list if you want to know about that, now that HL2 the game is finished they're working on making the SDK, which is the best way to do it because making a SDK before finishing the game/engine would be the dumbest idea ever (and I'd be expecting epic to do that for Unreal3 ;))
