try this link http://www.backupsoft.net/myip.php it gives you your ip number that your freind can use example 111.111.1.111
you must give them you ip number + game port number 27015
like this 111.111.1.111:27015

Currently, I'm trying to set up a server so that some friends and I can play with each other when we're not all at the same house, and we don't want to bother with a pub. So I downloaded HLDS, installed it, thats ok. However, the problem comes when other people try to connect to the server. The IP that HLDS gives me is "192.168.0.x" which is an IP that pertains to computers on the network. My friends aren't on my network, thus they cannot connect. How can I rectify this problem my having my public IP be used instead?
