You're not restarded, but you should have mentioned this was for srcds.
The 'stats' command hasn't been implimented for that yet.

using SRCDS. I spaced it on this one. Thanks for the patience and

I believe the stats command only works for the old hlds servers. It
doesn't work in the new source engine. To my knowledge there is no
command for the new servers yet. I wish they would add that one back
though.

um, what exactly is "this problem?" You didn't mention any problem,
and you didn't even enter a subject for your email. We kinda need an
actual question and/or description before we can decide if it's
something we know how to help you with, we can't read your mind. ;)

Subject: [hlds] Per server addons for the Source Engine how?
Reply-To: [email protected]
With games like quake3 there was fs_basepath, for UT they
are all configurable in the config file, half-life1 had metamod
so how with the source engine ( CS for example ) is this
achieved.
Obviously loading different mods for each server from
a common install is a basic requirement but I've not been
able to find any good info on this. Anyone know how this
really works?

Well I'm not positive, but I believe just like in CS 1.6, you can make
people spawn with guns in CS:S. Thus, there is no reason to have the guns
on
the ground, just have weapons/ammo dropped on spawnpoints.

Since there has been no word from valve on the issue and The
weapon_weaponname entity's have been removed from the fgd in
Counter-strike it seems that valve has chosen to remove the ability
for mappers to place weapons in maps.

I'm not positive, but I think "fps_max" is a client side variable only. I
could be wrong though.

Interestingly enough, no. I didn't have that variable in the
server.cfg at all....
I've added it though, and set it to 1000. Now if only I could get
that dern 'stats' command to give me the server FPS I could let you
know if it helped.

Do you just want it to look at, or are you collecting the information?
Every HLDS/SRCDS console I've seen has the current map, players and
server fps along the top of the console window. You have to turn the
scroll buffer off (right click on the console window -> Properties ->
Screen Buffer Size -> change the 300 to 25). Tell it to use those
settings for windows of the same name, and you'll always have that
little header now.

Try making a map. You can make people spawn with one of each primary, and
one of each secondary if wanted.
Download the map aim_sk_m4 and play it. You'll see.
