Fixed!!! I swapped the Actiontek DSL Modem with a Westell 2100 DSL Modem, and now I can do it again! Interesting enough, with the Actiontek, my linksys would show it's outgoing IP as 192.168.1.10, which is what the Actiontec assigned it. But with the Westell, it's outgoing ip is the IP my ISP gives me, not the 192.168.1.x range that you would think it would be. Weird....anyone have a simple easy for laypeople to understand explanation? This is not my area of expertise.

Subject: [hlds] [OT] How to see own server in server list

[OT warning]

This is slightly OT, but I know someone here has the answer. I recently changed ISPs, and now I no longer see my server in the server list if I'm connected to the Internet via the same ISP. If I use a different provider, IE I dial in with different ISP, my server appears on list. Before changing ISPs, I could see my own server in the server list.

Another symptom of something having changed - before, I could access my web server via it's external ip address from any machine on the same network. Now I can't.

Old config:

Internet -> Cox Cable -> Linksys Cable Modem -> Linksys WRT54G -> my computers.

New config:

Internet -> Qwest DSL -> Actiontek GT701 DSL Modem -> Linksys WRT54G -> my computer.

The only thing that has changed is modem and my service provider. Everything from the WRT54G into my network has not changed. Also, I have the ip address of the WRT setup in the Actiontek as being in it's DMZ to avoid port forwarding issues from Actiontek to WRT. I'm assuming this works because my HL server and web and ftp and other servers all work fine and can be accessed by people on the Internet.

So - why could I access my machines via my external IP before, and why can't I now? More importantly, is it possible to configure things so I can again?
