Actually, one of the datacenters that I'm in has a TON of pr0n sites hosted at it, and it's one of my most stable, lowest latency locations. They have a sister company who does nothing but pr0n and I've actually SEEN a pr0n star there, 20 feet from my rack.

I don't observe a lot of memory use flucuation at all regardless of player counts. however, a gig of memory will serve most needs well. i have 2gb and seldom observe it running above 900mb in use. keep in mind that a 100mbps nic that is attached to a lousy/busy connection to the backbone will still be a poor connection. I.e.; don't rent a server from a hosting provider that supports a large number of pron sites, etc. study the provider's backbone connections and pick one that has a good set of pipes. Don't hook your race car up to a donkey and still expect to win. _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
