the main concern is will you be able to get drivers for your hardware.
That will come in time, but at this very moment it might be a gamble
as to whether you'll have drivers to use right away. Performance
shouldn't be significantly different, at least not until/unless we
also get 64bit binaries for the games. At that point, at the very
least the games would have access to the extra CPU registers, which
will help somewhat in the performance department. Apparently, most
32bit programs, including games, don't have any problems running on
64bit windows. Do yourself a favour and get an Athlon64 though, not
Intel's weaker alternative. Get a board/cpu based on Socket939 to
future-proof yourself a little bit. Could even drop in one of the dual
core CPUs down the road, with just a BIOS update.
