usually threaning or admitions in emails coupled with Logs is enough to get the 
isp to at least send the user (or in some cases call the users) a nasty warning 
and flag the account.

The ISP will accept firewall log files showing attacks, so if he really
does try to hack your server you can
send those to your ISP and his, I don't know about the emails, but if he
did attack they would show premeditation.
