Just a quick $0.02. You shouldn't worry about the rotation speed of the drive. When it comes to building a reliable box, you will want lots of ram, but the drives will not need to be blazingly fast. If you are considering longevity you may do better to go for a slihgtly higher latency drive solution and go with a raid over cheaper disks.
