-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Hey 1 question tho. How do you add heapsize to the hl2.exe?? I thought the only way to add that parameter was thru launch options in games panel.
Also: My apologies to those that visited my site for the CVARS and didn't see the attachment. I had set file download properties to reg only in my controls but I fixed it so you can view the attachments in that forum only. I do now have both CLIENT and SERVER Cvar lists in seperate topics under DOD: Source Information @ http://www.landofozz.net . Also, in case you didn't see it on the STEAM forums, someone made a crap custom map called dod_icecaverns. It's not much, believe me, but it's a 5th map for the moment, the way I see it. You can download that map in my downloads section, but I'm afraid you'll have to register to get there. I like to keep track of leeching since I pay for a basic service with limited, but ample, data transfer per month. Again, my apologies I realize some of you must have been a little miffed on Monday. :( More as I collect it, -Ozz -------------- Original message -------------- > -- > [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] > i wish I could edit what i wrote... sorry... > this doesnt effect the client unless you add it to the hl2.exe file... > Adding this to the client greatly reduces load times of level and the game > itself. > > On 9/29/05, Tyler Cook wrote: > > > > -heapsize defines how much physical memory your servers is allowed to > > allocate for loading > > I am running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, my server is 24 slots, i have > > 512mb of ram... so i used... > > -heapsize 256000 > > dont alocate more than 50% of your TOTAL physical memory, or source will > > put it to the default (64mb) > > SO NOW...
