Un-important, it's a client setting. > Why dont you use the builtin FTP in windows? I do, in fact I generally use the first FTP program i can get my hands on, often WIN+R->ftp is fastest, but if I'm copying a large group of unpacked files I'll tend to get filezilla (it's free and it works without fail, every time). > Windows 2003 has it. Being part of IIS you can use NTLM authentication, which if you have your servers setup in a domain means you only have to logon to the domain once, and this might save you time. By the same token, this also means however that someone only needs to hack one password for access to all boxes on the domain. Furhtermore many people would recommend not using IIS' FTP due to the size of the services it runs and the various possibilities for mal-configuration leading to a security breach. > On 10/10/05, James Tucker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > ws ftp has an option to prevent it from writing new timestamps. > > > > if you have a custom map on the server named the same as a normal > > client map, you will run into this issue, as the client will load any > > custom map it has first (which fails as above, if indeed that is the > > problem), or it will load the default map (which is in fact different > > anyway). > > > > A better suggestion for your clients is that they remove their custom > > maps which cause this issue, and re-download them.
