That's a pretty big guess.  What's the actual cpu utilization on the box?

i have seen this as well. one of my servers on a "less quality" box, used to
run decent, unless ran for days and days without a restart, but now it gets
random lag, and its not ping, so it must be the computer maxing out cpu.
