As an aside, I find the linux list to be more to my
liking, but then linux geeks tend to be much more aware of
what hardware/software they're working with, and through
experience are familiar with the basic diagnostic tools.
Note to you: you've been given the instructions necessary
to do this specific action yourself. If you can argue your
way around my position that's fine, I'm prepared to be wrong on
my assumptions and convinced by your reasons. Holding a gun
to your own head and shouting "Back off or I'll shoot!" is not
generally accepted as a valid tactic when it comes to debate.
