Look to history answer your question. Would a "major" element of there system be broke forever especially with new games and new companies coming onboard? No, will it be fixed soon... probably not because the out of game one works. They will get around to it, it is most likely on the list of bug fixes and additions to Steam. remember we are the end user and are the last to know what is going on and what is to come.
