You might also have an incomplete install, rerun your hldsupdatetool update
and use the -verify_all switch.

If that doesn't fix it then delete the clientregistry.blob file and run the
hldsupdatetool update again, make sure the path is correct.

For Win32 SRCDS, you should be able to just browse to your server install
folder and click on SRCDS.EXE and it will normally run in VGUI mode. If you
do this and it doesn't run, then try running the source server from your
client on the same machine and see if that works.

Here is my command line

C:\HL2server\srcds.exe -game hl2mp -port 27016 +maxplayers 9 +map
dm_lockdown

Maybe I'm missing something but I just don't see it????

you have to specify

-game hl2mp

in the command line or it won't start.

If you are using -console you will also need to specify a map in the
command
line:

+map dm_lockdown

Just installed hl2mp using the updatetool. Created a shortcut to
srcds.exe
sending it the required parms. When I double click the icon nothing
happens. I double checked the .bat file and everything is there. I have
a
hl1 server running on the same machine and that works fine... just hl2
won't
run. Odd that I don't get anything... no errors no nuttin... just an
hour
glass for less than a second and nothing else.
