Silent run is a technique which involve using multiple crouches in a way that makes you slide forward with no or little noise. Not sure whether this also gives a speed boost but absence of footsteps is most obvious and annoying benefit.

As for community, it changes from server to server. Some people allow it, some don't. Some allow it but only to a certain degree. -------Original Message------- From: Roman Hatsiev Date: 04/30/06 15:07:57 To: [email protected] Subject: [hlds] Bunny hop and silent run in CS 1.6 Sorry if this was discussed before but I wonder what is official (i.e. expressed by Valve) or at least common (i.e. expressed by community) opinion about bunny hop and silent run widely used by many professional players let alone lots of regular players? On our recent event I saw both in action and both look like bug exploit to me. So if it is an exploit it would be nice to get this bug fixed...
