I do not share those concerns. You need to do A little deeper reading http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Source_TV
The Match server can be set to tv_maset which would allow 1 proxy to connect then clients and more proxys can connect you that proxy -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Andrew Armstrong Sent: Saturday, May 13, 2006 12:37 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [hlds] SourceTV - Why the different implementation? Hey, I thought I would mention this now as there was a recent beta update to SourceTV ( http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Source_Engine_Beta_Changelist ) Myself and others are wondering why the SourceTV implementation is so different to HLTV? Mainly, the SourceTV server needs to run on the same physical host (like a sub-process is spawned?) when SourceTV is enabled for a particular game. Why is this the case? This is not desirable, as you are now burdening the 'match' server with 100's of spectators attempting to view the game, which is running on the same physical host and resources. Anyone else share these concerns?
