Hmm i'm guessing you've had a look at the support section on steampowered.com where theres an entry regarding routers/firmware and this issue? (Search "svc_bad")
Aaaaaaaaages ago i'm sure this error was perhaps something to do with cheating death or maybe pb, i dont suppose you are running anything like that? (this was a good few years ago mind, so probably in no way related) And out of interest does it ever happen on a vanilla install, as in with no mods on it? Tried searching the archives of this list even? i'm sure i've seen it mentioned at some point recently, though it was possibly just another question about it.
