Dear Richard, I'm really impressed by your faith in humanity. Should you see a dead body with three wounds in his back, you would probably prefer to declare it a suicide just to protect innocent with a knife caught near body. I wish I could follow your steps. *sigh*

I certainly don't think it proof of which you could add him to a global banlist. He may have been able to hear the gun that the guy was shooting. The other player may consistently go that way so the player being spec'ed had a good idea of where he would be. The wall shot he tries to make is most probably a CS1.6 trait being that you cant really wall bang as much in source and very few players do it. Also note the snap shot he tries to make through the wall isn't actually on the enemy. A lot of newer players are easy to read and if they find an attack pattern that works for them they tend to stick to it. A seasoned player as i'm sure many of you are will have a good idea what they are going to do even before they decide to do it. The player being spec'ed may have noticed that his enemy was going that way and picking off guys from that vantage point. Viewing a demo with a wall hack on also tends to make a spectator more biased. As to Vac, you only realise how good vac is when you turn it off. Let your public servers run a few days without Vac2 on and see what happens. Yes vac isn't a great solution but it does help cut down a lot of cheats. Steambans do a lot of good but..... With global banlists there is a small margin of error meaning false positives will be banned unfairly. There was also the problem that Steam-ID's where showing incorrectly in game servers a few months back meaning SteamBans may have banned a number of players wrongly as the demos / screenshots could have shown the wrong SteamID. Add to this that a demo file can be altered and a screenshot can be adjusted. Would you want your innocence put up for examination? _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
