It was impossible to reach yesterday due to what seemed like too much traffic - so my guess is that the site was taken down because it couldn't handle the load of; a) a natural large flow of people visiting the site due to the mani problems - or b) a DDOS attack to bring it down. I don't think they would take the site down and not have at least a simple index telling people why it's down...
