-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] This is the command line I use: hldsupdatetool -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir "." -verify_all
It runs through the update process partially, but once it finishes "Verifying" the maps, it displays this: Downloading: C:\srcds\cstrike\gameinfo.txt Connection Reset, WinSock Error 10054 "Connection reset by peer" This results in a blank (0 KB) gameinfo.txt. If I run the server at this point, it is version 1.0.1.0/7 2844 and "out of date" for updated Steam clients. (Note that in order to run the server without crashing at startup, I have to manually copy a fresh gameinfo.txt from a different updated server.) I'm guessing the server is out of date because the necessary updates are not being downloaded due to this error. The hardware that runs this server isn't exactly up to today's standards (the CPU is 700 MHz), so it takes longer than modern machines to verify files during the update process. Perhaps there's some kind of timeout that has been decreased? Keep in mind that this server was working fine and dandy after the 08/24/06 updates. The 08/30/06 updates started this problem.
