Hi Ook, thnk you SO much for showing interest, i am sorry but
that'devinserver.dyndns.org' does not exist anymore i closed it a few days ago
lol,
i created a new one called: devingameserver.dyndns.org on the 26 September
2006, Ook, trust me, ive been there done that with the names of my router,
well first ill give you all the information u asked for:
I live in South Africa, Western Cape
I am 14 years of age
My ISP is CYBERSMART
My connection type is Broadband/ dsl @ 384kb speed
My upload download bandwidth is 3gigabytes
"BOX"- not quite sure what u mean but im guessing a ROUTER, i forwarded ports
27015 both incoming, 1 udp port and one tcp port (both 27015) ive tryed making
another 2 for outbound but again no luck....JUST U ADVISE ME WHAT TO DO SINCE
I MIGHT HAVE MADE A MISTAKE..Ill give you more detail in privtae, not on a
LIST MAIL, ROFL....
I found out from my isp that there router is a Cybersmart router model 848.
heres
all the numbers on the back of my router, it says: FC159A43A6B00047 also says
under that: MAC:0013641EB1F7 (both have barcodes next to it).
Nope, i whent to the router setup ut no make watsoever only the website of my
isp. also my isp email me saying ppl must try and connect in css console type:
telnet devingameserver.dyndns.org:27015 but i havent tryed that yet,,just tell
me what u wnat me to do, ur advise i want plzzz lol.
PLEASE ook reply to this ASAP since i am absolutely desperate in hosting a
server and since u know alot :P can you also please tell me how to get my
server showing up in the server list..thnx again Ook i really apprecite you
kind interest

devinserver.dyndns.org does not resolve and according to dyndns it
is not
registered. Are you sure you registered it correctly? Did you
register
devinserver or some other name?
Where do you live (just city and state)?
How old are you (helps to know if we are dealing with someone that
is 13 or
73)?
Who is your ISP?
What is your connection type (dsl/cable/idsl/etc.)?
What is your upload and download bandwidth?
Turn your router over, look on the back/bottom. There will be some
sort of
tag somewhere identifying it, see if you can find some kind of a
model
number. ISPs don't make routers, but many have "branded" routers
made or
them. When you go to the setup screen of the router, it should
identify the
router. See anything? I'm guessing Actiontec or maybe RCA.
Exactly what ports did you forward to the box running your server?
What is your hostname of your server? (type hostname in the
console).

dedicated
server on CounterStrike Source but it aint workinG!!.....Ive

BUT
THEY CANT CONNECT!!!! and by the way..my ISP gave me the directions

problem that ive been stuck on for 2 months plz HELP!!!!!

Did the OP ever get his server running? Mine works fine, dedicated
SRCDS
HL1MP server. Source half-life 1 server, and there are almost
always
players
there. Mainly because there are few dedicated SRCDS hl1mp servers
out there,
and the listen servers are very unstable.
As I recall, the steps posted by 1nsane were accurate as far as
they
went,
but there was a critical step missing. If anyone wants directions,
I
can
post how I got mine going.

Not all servers are created equally. And not all tutorials are

two "how to's" on Steam's forum for Half Life DM Source are
faulty.

challenge you to go to Google and find a "how to" for this game.

posting to a listserv is a form of research; please don't forget

please remember this listserv was created for serveral reasons,

not to
accommodate the wishes of just one person or some select group of
programmers. If Valve wants this listserv to be specifically for
"programmers" then they can take better steps to make it more
private and
exclusive.
In my opinion they should have put administrators and programmers
on a
separate listserv, but I ain't gonna cry about it or start
ranting.
As
much
time as it took you people to reply in your email, you simply
could
have
hit
your DELETE button. Please do that next time instead of
displaying
your
personality problems to all of us.
And if I ever see any email here from someone wanting help to set
up a
Steam
related game that I have run, I have a prewritten setup document
that I am
simply going to cut and paste into my reply to them so I can help
them.
