If its just for you and your friend, perhaps this is an easier solotion:

http://files.hamachi.cc/HamachiSetup-1.0.1.3-en.exe

This creates a virtual network connection between you and your friend. This
way you just can start a LAN game and join in on eachother.
Routers and such are no problem here, you dont need to make any port
forwards or what so ever.

Subject: [hlds] Listen server

Hi,

I've never run a server before, and I can't find much help on the
subject. I'm trying to setup a listen server so my friend and I can
practice in peace. I'm also new to steam/valve interface so I don't know
much about the console (commands and such). If some one could point me in
the right direction, it'd be much appreciated.

Thanx,

A noob
