That is an extremely bad idea, and is also unnecessary. You have just put
out a sign saying "Here I am, Hack Me Baby!". Without NAT or a firewall to
protect you from incoming threats, your box will likely be quickly
compromised. Just forward the necessary ports, keep NAT up, and turn off
firewall. Once you have the server working, turn on the firewall and set it
to let the proper ports through. I've ran that way for years without
problems.

I once made the mistake of connecting my laptop to the Internet with no nat
or firewall. It didn't last 5 minutes, and I ended up having to wipe windows
and reinstall because the bug it picked up was one of those that corrupted
every executable it could find. I lost everything on the box.

Oh  i just had a look at my router config ...i also added my server to the
DMZ so the pulic address points to my LAN address. Try that!
