Steve, try this version, I converted the movie over to WMV format:

you might also try opening the AVI with irfanview or MS Moviemaker and see
if those are any better.

That looks like it might be a codec issue on your side, several other
folks
have been able to view this avi with no problems.
the compression on the avi is just basic MSVC Microsoft Video 1
I don't have any custom codecs installed here at all.

avi is just black there man, nothing displays. Tried both mediaplayer
