Could we please have a way to optimise the way the update tool checks for updates. As it stands for those of us who support all the mods an update now takes forever, why? Well in the process of updating all the mods the base files are checked 5 times.
It would be really good if there was a simple way to just get steam to update everything something like: -command update -game "hl2ds" This should then iterate all of the "Source DS" packages checking them once only. Also a way to suppress the current verbose output with the %'s and just show the files which are being updated would be appreciated, as it also slows the process down quite a bit when run remotely. N.B. We used to achieve using a simple grep to exclude "verifying" with the previous version of the steam updater but this is no longer possible with new "comedy value" %'s ;-) Regards Steve ================================================ This e.mail is private and confidential between Multiplay (UK) Ltd. and the person or entity to whom it is addressed.
